Hunky Husband's Hockey

Hunky husband participated in a hockey tournament in Carman last weekend. Yup, good old Carman. It was a fundraiser for Cornerstone Christian Care which is providing care to the handicapped members in the Winnipeg and Carman churches. They are hoping to set up a home for them as well. Hunky husband played Friday night and Saturday and we were there to cheer him on.

This is him - #28.... And thats the score - 3 visitors, 5 home. He's visitors :(

Don't mind that he is wearing his brother-in-laws jersey...

He's the best defense I know....

They didn't win (not by far), but I was very proud of him when he played an extra game at night to fill in for an injured player on another team....

And no blog entry would be complete without a picture of my tiny tot. We are going to dress like spring even if spring isn't here yet!

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend. We are off to go babysit my sister and brother-in-law's rugrats for a night so they can go on a overnight date!

Psalm 48:14 "For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide
even to the end."

Tiny tot's swimming!

I've been meaning to blog all week, but of course it was one of those weeks where you are running around like crazy and have a million things on your calendar and thinking it's friday when it's only thursday type weeks. I'm sure you've all had those. I don't know why, but I always beat myself up about it - that I can't seem to get things done even though I have a baby shower to plan (and host next week), shopping to do, bible study, birthday parties, sewing, cleaning , baking etc. all in one week. We are also heading off to carman this weekend for the annual fundraising hockey tourny that hunky husband is playing in.
My sister-in-law called and wanted to know if I wanted to go swimming tonight. Sure! Might as well add that in! I'm so glad I did though. It was so relaxing and tiny tot (and her mommy) had lots of fun. Here is a few pics!

They had this lovely floating fish that she could sit in unassisted...

Cousin M pulled her around for a little bit...

Happy (but maybe a little unsure) baby...

Floatin' around with her cousin J...

All done! A little cold and a little tired...
Hope you all have a great (relaxing) weekend! And cheer for hunky husbands team!

Isaiah 25:8 "He will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign LORD will wipe away
the tears from all faces; he will remove the disgrace of his people from all the
earth. The LORD has spoken."

I love this text! It has so much assurance! I just love reading it over and over to feel assured. "The LORD has spoken." We can be so sure!

Pretty Ears!

Tiny tot had a pretty exciting day on Saturday! Tiny tot and Cousin M got their ears pierced! I think she was happy that her oldest cousin could come along and show her how it was done. And her oldest cousin was glad she could get it done with her youngest cousin.

Here they are at home with numbing gel on their ears...

Waiting at the salon... (a little nervous)

Marking her ears...

Piercing the first ear...

Was not impressed after the second...

All done! And they each got a sucker :)

Pretty girls with pretty ears!

Tiny tot's mommy felt a little bad about doing it, but it sure is cute!

So, what do you think of my new web blog layout? I'm such a rookie at this blog stuff. I'm still trying to figure everything out and get it all set up "professionally".

The text that I picked for this week I chose because I had a little "brokenhearted" moment on Sunday. You know one of those moments where you just fall apart and just wait for God to lift you up? Well he certainly did on Sunday afternoon. We had a sermon on how amazing and awesome God is through his creation. And just that morning we had had beautiful thick hoarfrost covering every tree and it sparkled and shone in the sun. It really was as if God was letting me know, look, look at my creation, look what I can do. Believe in Me and believe that I will comfort you through all of this. Take comfort in Psalm 34:18.

Psalm 34:18 "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are
crushed in spirit."
