Birthday Party #2 and #3

Although we were hoping to go to the zoo for Tiny tot's second birthday party with the "L" side of the family, the forecast called for 90% chance of rain. So we changed our plans and headed to the Steinbach Aquatic centre. What a great place! The kids loved it and there was lots to do for the younger ones as well as the older ones. Here are a few pictures...

This is most of the "L" family enjoying the shallow end. Tiny tot played on this ledge with the water toys most of the time...

Happy cousin "J"...

Hanging out with cousin M. She looks sad but was really loving the water...

Enjoying the "lazy river", although it made me feel sick...

There was even an outdoor splash park for the older ones...

We went to a restaurant for supper after the pool, where tiny tot opened her presents...

And then we went to Auntie A's to enjoy cupcakes!

Last week we had a 'small' party with her friends. Approximately 12 tot's attended with their mommies. It was quite busy but lots of fun. Needless to say, grandma escaped for the morning :)
Here are a few pictures of her opening her presents.

Can you tell she loves presents?

These are the goodie bags I made for each tot. Most of the attendees were little boy tot's, and they were all thrilled with the sand toy and goodies. All in all we had a great time! I think I'm done with parties for a little while though...

All of her presents from the "S" side of the family...

She seemed very impressed that we were all singing Happy Birthday to her...

She was very intent on every present...

She received some pretty new earrings from her mom and dad...

Reading every card...

A new dolly from G&G S. She loves it...

Mmmm, cake!...

Enjoying her birthday cake...

Delicious! And bath time...

What Do You Prefer?

What do you prefer, blue or pink? Nintendo has recently come out with blue and pink Wii remotes. The two new color options will allow you to have a personal remote in the color you prefer.... They were released to replicate the "retro" controllers of the Nintendo N64...

Speaking of pink or blue, how about these funky steering wheel covers? Wouldn't you love to be sporting ones of these?!...

Are the ladies choosing pink? Are the men choosing blue?...

Which do you prefer??? Are we catching on yet???

Lyra has an announcement!!!!!....

James 1:17a "Every good and perfect gift is from above"

Good-bye Little Blue House!

Our first home is sold! It was a little bit stressful last night as we only had three offers on the home, two very close to the asking price and one way higher. Of course you are thinking that this is a good thing, however the very high offer had a possession date of May 31, 2010! Yup, that's two weeks!!! We did not know what to do. In the end we did accept the higher offer and my parents have graciously offered to accept us into their home MUCH earlier than expected. I am feeling excited, stressed, and a little apprehensive. I am a little sad that we aren't able to enjoy our little house for more than 2 more weeks, but I think I am more excited about the things to come. Another chapter in our lives I guess!
Everyone came over last night, including Aunt M from Ontario, and we all had a good time celebrating.
Psalm 37: 3-5 "Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe
pasture. Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your
heart. Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this"
I've been finding I have been learning a lot about trusting in God's plan throughout this whole process. I thought I would share this little lesson about trust :)

For Sale!

603 Day Street is officially for sale! Our little starter home went on the market this monday, with showings starting wednesday. We have already had a number of people walk through and it seems it's only going to be busier this weekend. It's been quite exciting and a little bit stressful. Hunky husband put in lots of hours and worked some late nights the past few weeks to get everything in order. It sure looks beautiful now though! And I'm sure this is the cleanest our house will ever be. So I thought I would share some pictures.

Here is the front view...

And for those that are curious as to what the bathroom looks like...
And tiny tot's room...

I will have to update you on how everything goes. We deal with offers on tuesday (hopefully there will be some) and then we will have to see when possesion date is etc. We are going off to Carman for the weekend to celebrate Mother's Day. It will be nice to get away and not have to worry about being out of the house for showings periodically throughout the day.
And Happy Mother's Day to all Mom's! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend with your families!

I wanted to share Matthew 6:34 with you but when I read the whole paragraph on Do Not Worry I wanted to share it all. But especially verse 34. I find it hard during more stressful times in our lives not to worry. It's hard not to feel worry when you are selling your house, or when a small infant in your congregation passes away, or when you really miss talking to your sister on the phone. And then you read Matthew 6: 25-34 and realize how small, helpless, and cared for we are. God loves us, and will most certainly take care of us even if we are starving and naked! And we are certainly blessed with more than that!

Matthew 6 25 "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you
will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more
important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the
birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your
heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of
you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?
28"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O
you of little faith? 31So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What
shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32For the pagans run after all these
things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his
kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as
well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will
worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

We Are Enjoying The Beautiful Weather!

We have been having some beautiful weather here in Manitoba! We have been soaking up every minute. It's been a while since we have had this many days of sun in a row. It's supposed to be +20 and sunny again tommorow! I think it will be a park day :)

Tiny tot LOVES being pulled and pushed by her uncle's and auntie's on her motorcycle. She gets rather cranky if someone takes her off! ...

Happy sunny day....

Even Isha loooves being out of the house. Doesn't she look happy?...

Aunty Eee pulled out grandma and grandpa's baby swing. At first it was a little scary but now tiny tot love being pushed in the swing...

Wheeee! ...

Today was a little bit of a sad day. It is the 2 year anniversary of our miscarriage. It certainly was a day to reflect on the experiences that we have gone through since we've been married. A few sad times, but so many happy times. We have a strong love and a beautiful baby girl. We are so blessed. And I don't know if it matters in heaven, but it's a comfort to me that our teeny tiny baby is up there with aunty Darc.

Revelation 21:4 "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."

No more tears or death or crying or pain!

Help! We need a name!

I know what you are thinking.... No, we do not need a name for a new puppy or baby! I have been working on a little project lately and they are going to be sold at a sale at the end of this month. They are small baby blankets. The kind that infants and toddlers get attached too. The "never leave home without it or the baby will not sleep" kind of blanket.
On the one side they are silky to mimic the feel of the mothers womb. I don't know who figured out that the inside of the womb is silky feeling, but that's what I've been told. The other side is a minky fabric, very plush and soft. I added three different tags with different textures. Babies always seem to go for the tag so I decided to add some. One is silky, one is black and white (babies most recognizable colors) and one is small to add some interest. I have also added a soother clip, which can be used as a toy if baby doesn't use a soother.
I have made 3 different patterns so far. Two for girls and one for boys.

This is the original one I made for tiny tot...

Then I made this one for a friends new baby boy...

And I made this one for one of tiny tot's friends...

So they need a name! And I need your help! I've been thinking about it for a while but it's hard to compete with all the other fancy baby blankets out there. You've got the Taggies, the Sherpa's, the Cocalo's, the Zabba's, and the Petunia Pickle Bottom blankets! Any suggestions? I need something catchy and fun. And if I pick your name, I will send one to you. Whether or not you have a baby! :) Post your suggestion below!

I thought this text was applicable for Easter Monday, to keep us focused on what is in store for us! What a rich comfort it was that Christ died on the cross for OUR sins!
John 6:39-40 "And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of
all that he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. For my Father's
will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have
eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day."
